“This is truly the most satisfying job I have ever had.” – KINDNESS Peer Counselor

Careers & Training

Generations of KINDNESS Team Members

Since 2006, the KINDNESS Project has trained and mentored more than 40 professional and para-professional infant feeding counselors. Some joined our team as paid Peer Counselors, some became volunteers, and others applied their KINDNESS skills in their own jobs or personal lives. We’ve enjoyed having teachers, physical therapists, speech-language therapists, nutritionists, doulas, and registered nurses on our team. Others were moms who previously worked in retail and fast food, or were just starting a brand new career. What all of our current and past KINDNESS training graduates have in common is a genuine, caring interest in helping families get their babies off to a great start. Volunteer Opportunities

KINDNESS volunteers:

✓ serve on our board of directors
✓ help with stocking supplies, update our website and other essential background support
✓ help with planning and running community events and fundraising
✓ intern with our mentorship program
✓ …and many other things!

We value any amount of volunteer time you can contribute. If you serve on our board, there are several meetings per year as well as varying amounts of time to complete the specific duties of your board position. Volunteering in other capacities is very flexible and has no required minimum time committment.
